Ask HN: The future of usability
I currently work in state government. I'm working on a project involving deploying SharePoint across the state as the intranet solution, but also have the opportunity to join a fledgling usability team that will be built into an enterprise-level group.
I haven't had much experience working with a usability team, so I would like to know: What is your view of the usability profession? Is this a profession on the rise? Is a usability team an asset that is worthwhile and helpful, or would I be better off sticking with the SharePoint stuff?
Thanks for any insights you can share.
