I've been wanting to do something like this but for WebAssembly & with Guile. Feels like it be useful compared to the hand writing I've been doing, here's an in-progress lexer: https://github.com/serprex/luwa/blob/master/rt/lex.wawa with the janky wawa assembler being https://github.com/serprex/luwa/blob/master/scripts/wawa.js

It allows to embed 6502 assembly in the Haskell code and use the latter as a macro language.

Can this work with Atari 8bit and 2600 or just C64?

I imagine the assembly is processor specific no?

They also have a 6502 :)

Family-specific, at least. A bunch of Atari machines, the C64, the NES, and a lot of others all used closely-related processors.

A note at the bottom says that it would also work for the NES, so I imagine that it would work for anything that uses that family of CPU.

Looking at the code it looks like you could easily change it for other chipsets https://github.com/pezipink/asi64/blob/master/expander.rkt
