So big that MS has to release a patch for Windows XP!

XP, 8 and Server 2003. Patches for 3 unsupported versions

edit: 2003* my bad

Is "Server 200" really something from 1817 years ago?

Since when was Windows 8 unsupported?

8.1 is supported, 8 is not. Support for Windows 8 ended on January 12, 2016.

Since January 2016. You have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 to be supported and up to date.
