Given how much Democrats and Republicans detest each other's candidates, you'd think it would have sunken in by now that relinquishing basic rights and allowing the government to create powerful apparatuses prone to abuse is never a good idea, no matter how much you trust the current people in power. Even if you loved Bush, next up you get a closet-Muslim itching to take your guns away (/s), and even if you loved Obama, now you get a narcissist with fascist tendencies behind the reigns (/s?).
