Ask HN: Cryptographically Anonymous Authentication?
I've been thinking about the possibility of creating a scheme where a user is authenticated against a system, but can be certain that the system does not know the individual identify of each user.
I started thinking about this because my university recently published a university-wide poll where you can leave feedback and review the university. They claim that you are anonymous, but you can only access the form from an authenticated page, and the link contains some unique token that authenticates me with the form.
I did some quick Google searches and found this paper: https://eprint.iacr.org/2014/073.pdf, but didn't really understand if this would be applicable to something like this. Does anyone know if there's anything like what I'm describing published?
