I knew they had experimented with it, but I couldn't find an up to date version. I just assumed they had abandoned it.

Why they do this in a forum thread instead of having a link on the normal download page, I cannot imagine. It's no wonder you couldn't find it! :)

If you're on Arch there are AUR packages that are regularly kept up to date.
