Ask HN: Job hunt-related statistics on programmers?
I'm looking to find sources showing at least some of the following statistics regarding job search activities of programmers:
- Average number of weeks or months a programmer takes on a job search before receiving/taking an offer - Average Number of applications submitted during a job search - Ratio of years of experience to length of time spent on the job hunt - Differences in job hunt durations for unemployed vs. currently employed programmers
And also if possible, different averages grouped by total years of experience. Reasoning that, for example, a new grad's job search would probably be a different experience than for someone who's been in the field for 10 years.
