I feel like I owe it to Armenia to visit. Seems like they have suffered a lot of hardship over the years.
edit: bollocks to the visit, I could already retire there! http://www.escapeartist.com/blog/live-armenia/
I was properly rebuked, we became life long friends, and that fact has become a fundamental part of how i view all armenians. I went on to learn about their incredible history of survival including the still unrecognized genocide at the hands of the turks. an ultimately triumphant struggle to remain independent and preserve their culture.
They're still separate cultural regions, maybe (insofar as religions that tend to spread through one will peter out at the borders of the other), but if we're talking about regions of cultural influence, then the ex-Soviet states are all effectively "Europe", while the Middle East [in modernity] forms its own region.
But for some reason we keep trying to classify things as "in Europe" or "in Asia." There's no there there, folks.
Well, I wasn't expecting that.
(It's essentially down to the fact that the BBC aren't allowed to display adverts — which feature on the website — to users in the UK. Apparently it's too costly to have the site not display adverts to UK users, so they simply block access to the entire site.)

The co-working spot Aeon is pretty cool.
Just keep an eye on the politics before going.
