This is a post by Jon Harrop, who is a known troll in the functional language community. He used to (maybe he still does? I haven't checked) troll comp.lang.lisp in order to advertise his books on F# and OCaml. He saw Lisp as a competitor, and sought to belittle it at every turn. Recently, he's shifted targets, and now regularly trolls /r/haskell and other Haskell communities.
