Did people (in general, not users of the device) know that? I think people got the impression that everyone wearing Glass was always recording everything all the time. So what you're saying is all the more reason why a recording indicator LED would have helped.

I just don't think it makes sense to put something on there that has no practical purpose.

The mere idea that someone could covertly record with Glass is silly, and there's tons of cheaper, far sneakier ways to film someone.

I get what you're saying, that average persons didn't know what the device could or couldn't do, but I don't think that's a justification to add a light that makes no sense to include.

And glass overheated and then died after 20 minutes of video recording...

The purpose is clear, that being if the camera is recording.
