Why 1848?

Very important year for Europe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutions_of_1848 (My American education completely ignored it)

In italian there is even a surviving expression "è successo un '48" (a 48 happened) that means "everything got messed up/ things got crazy".
