Probably I would inevitably think this about any ring-shaped building, but it looks quite a bit like the GCHQ headquarters in Cheltenham.

I guess the Apple version is somewhat more slender and (unsurprisingly for Apple?) a bit shinier.

The Apple Park main building has such a large diameter that GCHQ headquarters would fit inside it. That's why it looks slender. :)

Circular buildings have been around for a lot longer then that. The Pentagon is essentially a round building with a grassy area in the middle.

Reducing complex shapes to topology only muddies the discussion. The Pentagon and Apple HQ toruses. Humans are also toruses when you consider the alimentary canal!

I would argue that humans are not topologically equivalent to toruses as most humans have many holes beyond the alimentary canal.

A pentagon is absolutely a circle - for sufficiently large values of five.

I'm pretty sure there were castles built hundreds of years before the pentagon that match this description

I had forgotten that the Pentagon isn't solid and has a courtyard. Apple Park's courtyard looks set to be pretty enormous; does anyone know what they're going to do with it?
