My response: That comment displays such a blinding lack of empathy that my response only draws attention back to the words of the original post.

Those points are poorly constructed, sociopathic, and worthy of scorn.

It's also quite possible that the commenter is trolling. I personally have a hard time believing that someone legitimately has views like that. Commenter is also not asking questions or expressing any interest in engaging about whether his views are ignorant.

I don't recall suggesting that it wasn't. I'm just saddened that a thoughtful reply gets bombed because it expresses unpopular opinions. I'd much rather see a rigorous discussion vs. a shout-down.
