I really like the minimalism of these. I guess the interesting part of the linked article was the guy wanted to make his blog look exactly the same as it was before he made the optimisations

https://bestmotherfucking.website is another one along those lines.

Inspired by the link, I created:

lol, hating on bad style and then coming with a bright background.

Is this a joke?!

I optimized my blog in a similar way: http://beza1e1.tuxen.de/blog_en.html

I also recently made a minimalistic news aggregator for german news: http://textnews.neocities.org

There's also http://evenbettermotherfucking.website/

I'm actually not a fan of how it looks. It was hard to read on my phone.

Same. Grandparents' linked site looks like the work of a bandwagoner that doesn't know what he's doing.

Compared with the others it was hard to read on my laptop. I can only imagine how grim it'll be on a phone.

It's hard to tell when the irony and sarcasm gets that deep, but I think it's intentionally bad. Their changes are 1. a hipster domain, 2. monospace fonts and 3. lower contrast, which are recent design trends that I believe they are mocking and part of what the original was reacting against.

How about this! http://www.boostedsignal.com/blog/

This looks fantastic to me, for some reason. How I wish most of the web looked more like this rather than full of Hero images.

Looks too old school to me :\

I think the idea here is to get a modern look with minimal code. Like the first page shows (the one without styling) it's easy to create a light weight website, it's hard to make it look like its from 2017.
