Rules for a constitutional crisis

I think moderate republicans thought that gerrymandering districts would tilt things there direction and give them more power. What it's done is given immense power to 30% of the population that can ignore the left and have put fear in the moderates that they'll be replaced if they don't get in line.

"Party vs Country" is a wrong analysis. When the choice you have is between Thatcherism and Blairism (both of which ignore the interests of the 99%) it is natural that people pick the National Front.

Suppress the left and overfund the right for too long and you get facism.
