Ask HN: Best iPhone content/ad blocker that respects my privacy?
I've recently upgraded my iPhone and as a nice side effect I can use all of the contact blockers now.
I've been looking around the web for recommendations for a content blocker but none seem very in depth.
I'm looking for one that is
1. Able to block ads in Safari, this is my main one because mobile websites with popups and overlays are getting harder and harder to read
2. I don't care about in-app ads, unless people here think there is a good reason so start
3. Uses a set of rules locally to block content so every URL downloaded doesn't cause another network request 4. Doesn't use a fake VPN profile. For work I sometimes need to use a real VPN so I would like to avoid that
Anyone have suggestions or ideas? I don't mind buying one and pay good, real, money.
Thanks!
