On Punching Nazis

I flagged this post. Out of all the news that happened that day, this was an extremely isolated incident. It does not deserve attention or discussion, and anyone attempting to make it a a top story is motivated entirely by the hope of scoring political points. The author is right, this post is not for nerds.

A very nicely done fallacy.

I met a guy who took a gun and actually shot nazis in the subway. He also did some spying.

He was not french enough, right leaning enough, christian enough for our post WWII whitewashed history hero named general De Gaulle so his net was burned. Ordered to inaction when Gestapo was coming for him.

He ended up at Buchenwald under the newly crafted name of a terrorist (nazi neologism). He organized one of the revolt in the camp.

According to this post, this guy should be condemned. According to the actual history his behaviours like others anonymous heroes played a major role in shortening WWII and saving innocent lives.

Sometimes, there is a time to fight. Maybe not now, and I have no opinion on Trump, he is not even my president. And, I don't even care of USA, or any flags. He too was not sure. You know, standing up is not an easy choice. Nothing can tell you if you are 100% right when you do something. And it is not easy living with the burden of violence. But what he did was against the laws and rules of the time.

But I am glad one day this old man stood up for me to live in a country that is way more tolerant than the nazi regim.

I am just lucky this guy never read and was convinced by this article.

And sorry man. There are days where a man have to fight. I did it quite a few time in my life. Sometimes you get called a psycho, sometimes you get beaten and your nose get broken. But when you protect someone you care about, you fight. And, sorry to break the myth, I am randomly french. and I do fight even with my fists when I see a danger.

This article is just a random essay turning cowardice into virtue using submission to a dysfunctional authority and forged traditions as an excuse.

You don't punch nazis to end nazism you do kill them. And that is how people died. They died killing them to ensure this article could be written.

Yes, wars and conflicts are ugly, and no one wishes to experience them. That is the reason why you sometime have to resist actively with no moral compass to ensure you are the nice guy.

Real life sux. Sometimes we have to dirty our hands to make a brighter future hoping you are not the bad guys and things will turn right.
