I don't believe Ubuntu on Windows is fully there already, but I have not tried it out yet.

In addition to Bash I would like to have, for instance, a full fledged graphical Emacs, the Dolphin file browser and the Konsole terminal emulator. So a headless VM would not really be enough -- does Hyper-V work well with a graphical desktop?

unless you have laptop larger than 1920x1080 screen reso, then I can't think of any problem (hyper-v doesn't allow you to change reso larger to than 1920x1080).

I don't think you can copy clipboard content out of the box with hyper-v, but I think fix just involves installing package.

That's really interesting -- I will keep that in mind as an alternative possibility!

Although the screen resolution would be a problem with the X1 Yoga.
