You don't have to use SCSS at all. Just fetch the compiled CSS from a CDN and use your favorite framework to generate another CSS that overrides the defaults.

You are toasted. It's like asking what if I like wordpress but I don't like PHP? Can I use wordpress with Ruby?

I think you have some things mixed up, Bootstrap is a front-end layout framework built with a CSS preprocessor, in this case SASS. It's got nothing to do with backend.

You are asking if you can use a different preprocessor, for which the answer is 'no'.

I think the answer is "yes" for those willing to use a fork. If your favorite preprocessor is popular I bet someone already made one.

It was just an example that it won't work, sorry for the confusion.

Personal anecdote: I went from SASS to Stylus and now back to SASS again. Reason being, Stylus has a lot of magic going on, and the loosely constrained grammar breaks stuff.
