Large MMO binary game patches complete faster on my Intel 750 NVMe drive. This is a lot of small random access reads and writes. So that is one real world gain.
benchmarks. the perception of performance is almost entirely related to latency at low queue depths.
You cant tell the difference between 100 us and 1 ms.
Definitely in benchmark.
I'm not sure I care then. My old Samsung 840 Pro is fast enough that it's rarely if ever the weak link.
