Not only is it sexist in general (and directed at me, because I don't use emacs), but also offensive towards my sexuality. His statement implies that men are supposed to have sex with virgin women, and that women only lose their virginity to men.

Good grief what an overly sensitive society we are becoming. Sorry to this person that didn't have his/her sexual ideals validated by another human being. What do you care what a bitter old man thinks about for the things you do in your private bedroom? The only other group of people who talk more about sex details than 16 year old boys are political correction police.

Aren't we going a bit too far with all this "political"-correctness? Are we living such harsh times that we need to take up a defensive stance when called an Emacs-virgin?

Is the libreboot/FSF drama relevant again? It still seems utterly ludicrous to me that RMS and his staff would fire someone merely for filing a workplace complaint about transphobia, as the Libreboot maintainer has claimed. Such a thing seems really out of character for Stallman, based on what I know of him from his political notes. [1]

I certainly think the FSF has its flaws, but everything about this project's "librexit" has felt wrong to me from the start.

Is the "Emacs virgin" thing really only used in reference to women? Referring to people who have never done something (scuba, driving a Miata, eating sushi, etc) are often referred to as "virgins" to that thing. Much like the sense of "virgin" (as in "extra virgin") olive oil.

The rest of this seems pretty reasonable but that particular complaint seems to be possibly an overreaction, depending on the context of how RMS used the phrase.

I don't like RMS either for the record and have thought he is self righteous and annoying for 20 years.
