Ask HN: Startup Social media marketing Help

Our startup is in the process of launching a product that is in communication (voice, SMS, messaging etc) space. I want to hear from HN veterans for any tips on how to create buzz in the market. 1.How to generate enough awareness of the product 2.How to approach popular blogs like, techcrunch, gigaom, twitter stream, facebook, YouTube etc. 3.Is there any other forums/newswire I should checkout for spreading the news. What other strategy should we adapt before the launch. Appreciate any help in this regard. Hope I can get some feedback from HN folks. Thanks.
