That article is very poorly written. It hurt to read. Also, the site hijacks my browser history to force spam advertising sites on to me when I try to return to this post.

OP here, I agree the site is questionable, sorry about that. At the time of posting, this was the only site I could find reporting on this issue (and one hour later, still is).

This is the youtube video which the article is referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYVjIjBMx6o

zitterbewegung gives another source at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12892733 . (If a questionable site is the only source you can offer, then surely at least a warning is in order?)

Same thing happend to me, first i thought; oh again a spamming android app on the background.

Apple is going to take a hit on this transitory MBP no doubt. But the successive ones will do much better in the eyes of the market when USB C cords become the norm.

If you read on HDMI's website they say the USB C to HDMI direct cord will be coming out in 2017. So maybe Apple jumped the gun a little bit, but I think they're eyeing the future.

Plus all the pressure on 3rd parties to deliver will mean the ecosystem will rapidly change in the same way it did when they removed Floppy Disks and CD Drives and VGA ports, etc.
