Startup stress: Handling competition

> (1) a lack of growth, (2) work/life balance, and (3) competition.

I founded/co-owned many companies and non of these ever stressed me; the only thing that stressed me is lack if funds which has not been because of 1 or 3 but rather because of management, either lacking or it being bad. But the actual stress factor is always money. Competition I consider good and competition we can fight in different ways, aka you can do something about it using different stratgies. If there is something fundamentally wrong with your management team it is far harder to fix imho.

This is a very consumer-oriented post. Unfortunately, there's a clear tradeoff with startup advice between specificity and universality; for my startup, this one is far too specific to apply to us (I think, with some degree of confidence).

Which is too bad, because we do think about hypothetical competition a lot, and it's a nonzero source of stress... but a post specific enough to address our situation wouldn't be very general at all.

That said, I think this is still a well-written article (enjoyed his/her other posts on startup mechanics), and if it applies to you, c'est bon.
