One of the current H. news links is apparently overloaded: http://thewalrus.ca/big-lonely-doug/ Gateway time-out

Why doesn't cloudflare offer a cached page?

My understanding is that Cloudflare's CDN [content delivery networt] is offered a la carte and it is likely that the type of site likely to be swamped by the 'internet's hug' is more likely to be one that ordinarily does not receive enough traffic to warrant paying for a CDN, but still likely to purchase other Cloudflare services.

On top of that, CDN's have latency when propagating new content so adding such service while a website is under load may not have noticeable effect for some time.
