You could say this now that China has made trillions of dollars doing business with English speaking world. Why didn't you insist then that everyone learn Chinese if they wanted to do business with Chinese companies ?

Because English is world's lingua franca. That's the reason e.g. most open source code is in English: not because of English colonialism, but because practical reasons, so everyone can read it (English is teached as second language almost everywhere, also in China)
