Maybe not with the software most of the world doesn't care about but I'd bet that there will always be someone willing to look real hard at software being put in to popular automobiles.

The same would seemingly have been true of OpenSSL (software that protects secure transactions online), but the Heartbleed bug wasn't detected for over two years.

it was detected though, still better than if it were closed
