Ask HN: Best advice for a fresher looking to step into the corporate(IT) world

hello HN, I am undergrad in computer science engineering and I will be graduating march 2017, with all the peer presure of friends getting placed and feeling anxious about my future, I feel all I want is to get a good job with a good pay, regardless of if the job position coincides with passion, and I know this is already mistake number 1, so just like these please guide me into the world (have a few months intern experience before thats all), what was best for you ? what is the most important thing at the end of the day ? etc
