Ask HN: Best way to archive and index email from multiple providers?

What solutions are out there for downloading and archiving emails from multiple accounts? I don't want to leave my email on those remote servers and I also don't want to trust just my email client(s) to keep track of those messages.

What options are out there for doing this?
