Ask HN: Smaller alternatives to Kubernetes/Deis?
I'm doing a couple of hobby projects and I'm currently using Dokku. But, I'm having troubles with a couple of things and now I'm on the lookout for a better alternative that meets my small-scale requirements.
* Easy to deploy to (either git push to a remote or automatically updating from a docker registry)
* Easy to aggregate logs for services
* Some sort of service discovery
* Monitoring and alerts when something stops working
I've been looking at things like Kubernetes but seems too "production"-like for me to use for my hobby projects. I also remembered Deis but seems it's using Kubernetes under the hood, so if something breaks, I won't be able to fix it.
I like Dokku's simplicity but both at work and for hobby projects (with different versions of Dokku), I had issues with some containers randomly stop to respond.
Is there anything simple that fits with my requirements or am I doomed to continue using Dokku?
