Ask HN: How do you get an inspiration for product?

Greetings. I'm an young software developer with few years experience behind my back. I currently work in one of the most fastest growing startups in my country and I'm pretty happy with it. Even though I do work on it overtime and like what I'm doing, I would like to try to create an app (mobile/web) and try to grow it/maintain it all by myself, just to see how far I can go. The problem is that pretty much everything I can think of, already exists or something really similar exists. I tried to think what I could automate in my life and what problem solving software about me I could develop, but still everything I can think about is already there. At this point I'm not looking in overnight success, if I manage to create something I would be really happy if it just pays for its hosting without any earnings for me.

So my question is how do you get inspired for a product? How I can generate better ideas and actually solve someone's problem?
