I wouldn't say it's anything revolutionary, but more just rewording of classic strategy. In short it's 'differentiate and don't compete with existing products in existing markets'.
Maybe not the only one but I don't think it's something to be proud of. It's a great book and I'm sure a lot of people are aware of the concept even though they haven't actually read the book.
