Ask HN: What is the best way to handle concurrency/parallelism in C?
Howdy all!
Generally I do Haskell and Erlang for a living, and consequently the tools for handling concurrency and threading and the like are built-in and easy.
However, I recently have been assigned a rather large project to be done in C, utilizing threads.
Since I'm relatively sure that me attempting to do threads manually will end with a lot of bugs, and since this project is requiring some socket-ey stuff anyway, I'm leaning towards ZeroMQ, but I would like to hear the arguments for OpenMP or any other threading libraries.
