As I mentioned elsewhere on this page, the developers are interested in serious discussion of a better name.

Microsoft has always been great at naming things!

It is super weird. I think Ubuntu shell for Windows is much, much better.

"Bash emulation in Ubuntu Layer on Windows" would probably be the accurate version :-)
