I second this as a frequent user of leaflet and openstreatmap. I started using both about 2 years ago and it's remarkable how much progress has been made in such a short amount of time.

I agree, these are fantastic projects/technologies that offer even more configurability than the Google Maps API. Porting the central part of a large company may be a challenge though, since Google Maps is so integrated into the site.
