Is there a "law" about people mentioning self-driving cars in anything even tangentially related to autos?

Can you rephrase that? I'm not making sense of that question.

atwebb is observing that whenever there is any sort of discussion about automobiles on Hacker News someone inevitably brings up self-driving cars.

There are people who think we should never fix or make any improvement to cars because self driving cars will make any improvement unnecessary.

And what's your plan for the next 30 years?

Uber will never be interested in taking on the capex of owning a full fleet of self-driving cars.

Sure, but perhaps they'll do what Lyft has done: partner with a company that already owns a fleet of vehicles [0].

I got a job offer at Uber ATC that was exactly that. Working on logistics for self driving cars. They have an enormous amount of money and they are throwing some of it at the problem. What use is an economy if so many people live in poverty?
