Ask HN: Functional or Imperative programing future of AI/robotics?
As somebody planning to work my way into AI development and robotics in the future(~5 years from now), what is the best programing style to learn for each?
In 5 years you'll likely/hopefully be proficient enough to wrangle both styles into whichever problem is best addressed by that style.
Just learn to program first, in whatever style you find easiest to learn. Once you learn your first language you'll find it's simple to pick up other languages and paradigms.
Since I'm basing this choice just in some Google searches and don't understand quite a bit of what they talk about, would you happen to have any input on this? Is C++ a good choice? As opposed to C?
