Not sure why this was flagged, first (I think) time I've used my 'vouch' powers. This is a legitimate article describing a hand-held thermite powered torch, with much the same effects as an oxy-acetylene torch or plasma torch but without the power requirements or the large amount of gear that you'd have to lug along. Wonder how it switches off once ignited.

1) Daily fucking Mail

2) Dupe, eg

Ah, I see. Thanks. As for 'daily fucking mail', yes, not the best source but if the domain isn't banned that would probably not be a reason for flagging (though I don't like the title much, it is bs).

Those don't as dupes because the story didn't get significant attention.

jacquesm is correct: the story was good and therefore should not have been flagged. It isn't fair to flag based on source site alone. Many crappy sites (including this one) produce the occasional good article, and that is what HN is interested in.

That said, it wasn't hard to find a less sensational article on the same topic, so we changed the url from http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3324173/The-l...

I originally submitted this link - http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/us-air-force-... - before I noticed that the Daily Mail was the original source.

It's a pity HN doesn't support multiple URLs for the same story.

We'll get there.

It exhausts its fuel and needs a new cartridge. It's the Gillette razor of the breaching world.

Looks like they took a Macgyver episode and made it a little smaller
