I think this is the problem Others was referring to with the xkcd. Anaconda might be the best one in your opinion, but there's a bunch more, like pip's `requirments.txt` and virtualenv
I've used them all. Conda bears the least resemblance to a software clown car.
conda is quite good. It makes a strong case to be a good general (not just Python) package manager. In particular I think the way it tries to make compiled binaries relocatable is very useful (and clever).
