I went through Codefellows and it was great. They do have a job placement focus however there were people in my class who were only doing it as a learning experience to stay on their same career path. The coding and career parts are kept pretty separate so you just wouldn't be required to show up to the career counseling parts unless you wanted to (there were some interesting guest speakers during my class so maybe you might want to go to some of them).
I had a very positive experience there and learned a lot. I also met people very extremely varied backgrounds (a linguistics professor, a financial worker heading to MIT after the program, a school teacher, a former MS project manager and a coffee roaster with a degree in Mathematics).
It's in Seattle and is 8 weeks long and is pretty intense (9am-7 or 8pm was very common 5 days a week) but I had a great time and would do it again if I could.
