'I've never felt more isolated' Notch reveals the empty side of success

> I would Musk and try to save the world, but that just exposes me to the same type of assholes that made me sell minecraft again.

Musk doesn't wallow in self-pity. Notch is probably deeply depressed and until he recognizes that, he is not going to come out of this.

This makes me kind of sad. I hope he is able to stop partying and use his money, influence, skills, and talent toward the development of another revolutionary game.

On the other hand... Notch if you're listening, please invite me to your next party - sounds amazing!

Notch needs to move on to new pastures and wake up his analytical side to reflect on his situatedness. I would suggest higher education and taking an interesting masters or even a Phd which would introduce him to remarkable new challenges. Totally different ways of thinking can be extremely difficult but amazingly refreshing for re-seeing the world. For example reading Heidegger, Deleuze, Foucault, Habermas or Adorno, with a group of others is an amazing experience.

Maybe a programme in politics, theory, philosophy, sociology or an interdisciplinary programme that combines these with understanding digital media would be a way back from ennui. With that kind of money you could study at a great School and be able to buy all the books to do the reading

mmh, this guy seems to need very badly a new puppy. I wonder what race could match his style.

yup, this is something he could call mine.

Personally, I'd tell Notch to look outside himself and observe suffering in the world. There is so much good he can do. So much opportunity. He doesn't have time to wallow in depression. People, animals, the environment could use his help and his resources.

What a shame if he squanders this opportunity.
